Overview

Encantado Technical Solutions is seeking an experienced SharePoint System Administrator to support our client at a major National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM.   The client’s organization is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and evolving enterprise services across the customers networks to promote collaboration and support production environments stable and secure.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will help support the SharePoint Architecture and Operations team (unclassified and classified environments). 
  • The candidate will be responsible for the O&M tasks, such as handling tier-3 tickets, patching, and upgrades for the environments. Some after-hours work will be required in support of the team. 
  • Work autonomously or as team member/lead performing the daily monitoring, maintenance, and repair of physical and virtual Server based systems. 
  • Support incident escalations requiring considerable judgement and initiative to resolve technical issues affecting hardware, operating systems, or applications. 
  • Work with vendors or external partners to diagnose and resolve issues. 
  • Maintain systems by applying operating system or application patches, install new or replace hardware, create/apply configuration changes to improve or restore system performance. 
  • Develop instructions/procedures for System Administrators I & II. 
  • Create scripts to aid with daily monitoring, maintenance, and repair of supported systems. 
  • Conduct Quality Assurance checks. 
  • Perform system capacity analysis and planning. 
  • Assist users in accessing and using business systems.

Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as some onsite work is required. 

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science (or related field) plus 2 years job-related experience or an Associate’s degree in related field plus 5 years’ experience or 8 years’ job-related experience in a similar field.
  • Must be a US Citizenship
  • This position requires an Active Dept. of Energy Q Clearance

Required skills:

  • At least 1 year experience supporting end users that operate as a Site Administrator, including supporting permissions and site administration activities OR experience administering SharePoint in a Site Administration role.
  • System administration experience in Windows Server including troubleshooting, patching, updates, configuration, access controls, installation, testing, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Experience managing IIS Web Applications and an understanding of IT hardware, operating systems, network, applications, telecommunications, and databases.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and/or object-oriented programming.
  • Ability to self-motivate and complete tasks from multiple sources, including ticket systems and project management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks, especially incident management, change management, and knowledge management.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Strong background in Information Technology
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Ability to work independently on tasks.

Desired skills: 

  • Experience working with and/or administering on-premises Microsoft services, including (but not limited to) Power BI Report Server, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Ability to develop SQL Queries/scripts
  • Tenable/Nessus experience.
  • Experience managing incidents and knowledge through ServiceNow
  • Aptitude for learning quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Virtual server Administration
  • Automating processes utilizing services such as: PowerShell, Power Automate, Azure Applications, Workflow, etc.
  • Familiarity or expertise with Azure/Scrum
  • Cross-team collaboration experience
  • Experience crating/maintaining technical documentation
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Possess a growth mindset.
